My Saturday and Sunday workouts were pretty much run of the mill. Saturday was P90X MC2 shoulder and arms. This is a one-on-one workout with Tony Horton and consists of 8 differents sets repeated 3 times over the period of an hour. I won’t go into detail because it is basically goes shoulder set – arm set, repeat, repeat again. Shoulder set – arm set, repeat, repeat again. Shoulder set – arm set, repeat, repeat again. Finally, shoulder set – arm set, repeat, repeat again. I followed that with 20 minutes of core work, mixed in with some more arms and shoulder work. Other than the shoulders/arms workout, I really didn’t have much of a plan today so I just picked exercises and did them. I worked in some shoulder throw squats with my log and some burpees with additional curls and presses using 2 10-pound weights.
Sunday is Yoga day. Once again nothing special. Tony Horton’s one-on-one Fountain of Youth yoga was the selection. I always struggle with yoga because the time seems to pass so slowly….sort of the same way I feel about running. The difference is that I think yoga is helping me to stay younger/stronger, while I feel like running is usually just eating away at lean muscle. That’s it. I don’t really feel like blogging today, but there will definitely be some this week and probably of a different variety. The Beast is approaching and the mental games must begin.
