I knew that today’s workout was going to be harder than normal for one reason alone: lack of sleep. I had a 6:45 a.m. meeting the morning after a late night out. If you do the math by calculating in time to dress, make my way to the gym, 1.5 hour workout, back to the room, shower, recovery drink, breakfast, and travel to meeting room, you’ll figure out that it was an early alarm. 4:15 a.m. early. My energy level was way down, but I trudged through a legs and back workout with all that I had. My performance was noticeably reduced, which ticks me off because I should have done what it takes to get sufficient sleep. My mindset has to be that of serious training, lest I want to be the last one off Killington. I prefer to come home with my shield, not on it! The one bright spot is that I finished strong with 52 burpees. Before I’m finished with my training, people will start calling them Jeffees.
